Three Week Review

Image hosted by Photobucket.com+ AMDG

Delia Cara,

You've completed 3 whole weeks as CNN's full time FAV Girl, during which you submitted 4 packages and appeared live 4x in various shows. Assuming a 5-day work week, that equates to 3.75 completed packages per week and an equal number of average appearances within the same time frame. Of course averages are misleading, as the packages and appearances were clustered within the 1st week - so we hope that your stats will normalize sometime soon.

Because of your 2-week absence between your last and latest appearances, we do not have much in terms of an actual report card (and we're still pissed at CNN for that!). What we do have, however, is our continued support and admiration for Your Hotness.

The world has changed SO much within the last 3 weeks, and we understand that matters of faith and values are probably not in the forefront of everyone's consciousness.

Image hosted by Photobucket.comBut we think we finally get it - what this whole FAV gig is all about. Maybe in a maelstrom of a world such as ours, it's about families and friends and walking the dog and mowing the lawn... simple things that keep us grounded. Maybe it's about having a Faith or a person we can trust. Maybe it's about finding the silver lining in everything, knowing that somehow or someday, everything in our lives is still good. Maybe it's about the simple joys of making a new friend (and holding on to the old), reading an incredible book, holding someone's hand, a winning football team, making a child forget that they miss their mommy, seeing Tom Delay get indicted (and hoping for his conviction)...

I know, it all sounds so Hallmarkish... sounds so intangible. Ah, but that's the challenge - it would require more than just a plain journalist, it would require a poet with a big heart (not literally, of course!) to capture the wind and show it to those who of us who cannot see.

So, good 3 weeks there so far. Looking forward to 3,000 more.

Love,
Your Admiration Society
