Unintelligent Makeover

Image hosted by Photobucket.com Her Hotness, Delia Gallagher, was on Lou Dobbs last night talking about the Intelligent Design case here in PA. Lou and Delia's exchange was really brief and without new information, so I won't go into that right now. Instead, let me rant about Delia's makeover.

Apparently, she has been given the official Time Warner makeover, including a new 'do (reminiscent of Farrah Fawcett circa Charlie's Angels) and hoop earrings. (By the way, Beyoncé called, she wants her bling back!) Whoever engineered this Delia Makeover should be... subjected to the same. How could anyone take a naturally lovely person and transform her into... this? I don't really get it, really I don't. Because now, Delia looks like any other blondie on TV.

The upside to this is that the whole makeover thing probably took a long time, and unless the culprit left a blueprint, kinda like color-the-face-by-numbers instructions, the new Delia look is probably hard to recreate. Which means we probably will not be seeing a lot of this madeover Delia anytime soon. At least, I hope not.

Image hosted by Photobucket.comOkay, so I'm being shallow, I'm one of the arguments against Intelligent Design. But I liked Her Hotness just the way she was! This dolled-up persona just doesn't jive... with the whole FAV gig. When I lived and worked in NYC, the only people I saw who had that much makeup either worked on the stages of Broadway, or on the streets of Broadway. Too much makeup just isn't compatible with the subway (i.e., grime magnet), and unless you're Carly Fiorina, not compatible with the whole Wall Street thing either (and that's why Carly is out of a job, but of course her bitchiness and incompetence also had a lot to do with her firing).

This is still the DGAS, and we love and admire Delia in make-up and in plain, in sickness and in health. So... let's see, maybe it was just a really bad hair-and-makeup day, it could happen to the best of 'em. Or as what Vic said... blowdryers do attack sometimes.

Well, Scarlette, if she's happy, then we have to respect that, right? I have this vision of her though being dragged into the Time Warner makeup room by someone who was laughing an evil laugh, saying, "Now, your face is mine! BWAHAHAHA!!!" Lame, I know, but all these time, she never had that much makeup until yesterday, so I think it's a new thing for her, most probably prodded by someone.

Thanks for writing in.

I have mixed emotions about her willingness to allow someone else to doll her up. If she had a "Cover Girl" in her naturally, you would have seen the glam look much earlier. Some women like to doll up, some don't and we rarely change in nature. What bothers me is that it is likely that someone orchestrated this and she let it happen. You know how they always say... "What would Jesus do?" well, in this case perhaps HH should have asked herself "What would Christiane Amanpour do?" As a new correspondent, credibility should be her priority...

You're right, Bobby. CNN doesn't own Delia, and I'm sure the level of makeup needed for TWC appearances isn't in her contract either. WWCA do is a good rule of thumb - people listen to what you have to say, not look at your 'do. If at all, the Farrah 'do was kinda distracting.
