Good One!

I avoided that entire John Mark Karr episode without blogging about it... because, well... it wasn't really worth it. Although I must admit it was kinda amusing watching the press trip over themselves, traveling business class with creepy dude so they could report everything he did - he ate prawns, he drank champagne, he went to the loo... You could tell from creepy dude's face that he was enjoying every second of attention he was getting. Press, you've been PUNK'D!

My buddy has the HUGEST CRUSH on Kyra Phillips, and everyday I would ask if there were any "Kyra moments" - you know, those times when Kyra gets away with things by simply being cute. So yesterday... was a HUGE KYRA MOMENT. Mortified or not, Kyra knows her ratings would jump today, you know, just so people could see the face behind the zipped pants. And Kyra could say it was merely an exercise on showing people the horror of warrantless wire taps: giving us, the innocent viewers, the fun of listening to other people's private conversations! There are ways to eat crow, and if crow is on the menu and there's nothing you can do about it, why not serve it on linen and fine china?

I think it's a brilliant idea - wiring a few chosen ladies' room at the CNN and Time Warner Centers - and broadcasting the conversations live on CNN Pipeline. To make things interesting, the unwitting bathroom goers wouldn't know if they are in wired or "dark" rooms, because the whole idea would be lame if folks wouldn't spill their guts (no pun intended). Hey, you never know if you could catch terrorists that way too.

So, good one, Kyra! Bush owes ya!
