FAV on Blow
It was a non-stop Delia-fest yesterday as she reported on the allegations of the Rev. Ted Haggard's gay sexcapades and meth buying sprees. Curiously, Delia, whilst quoting somebody else, kept alluding to a possible political angle on this story: "Because there was (sic) some accusations in the beginning that this was politically motivated, the timing of this just before the elections, when Colorado has two questions on their ballot about gay marriage. And Ted Haggard, of course, was a strong proponent against gay marriage, and an outspoken one. So there was a lot of question whether this was politically motivated. "But McDruggie - he's cool, since he only did drugs and had gay sex but did not try to get married, at least according to the church's associate gay-faced pastor: "Brendle said he sees no hypocrisy in Haggard's actions. "To my knowledge, Mike Jones has not alleged that Ted asked him to marry him... No, I do not see this instance as hypocrisy. I do see it as indiscretion, and I am grateful that Ted is repentant and humble." My head is really beginning to hurt from this twisted logic. (Note: That was a real quote!)
Delia said "whilst"... so that''s a *swoon*:
GALLAGHER: This is definitely part of the problem, Heidi, because whilst the community, when those allegations were first made, by Mike Jones really rallied behind Ted Haggard, the fact now that this interim pastor has come out and said well, there were some indiscretions. Some of this is true. Adds to the shock and the anticipation on the part of that community at New Life Church and on the part of evangelicals across the nation as to what exactly is going on.
Anyway, here are the story's key points so you don't have to suffer through clips being played over and over:- Rev. Holier-than-thou bought blow from his regular male hooker / dealer, BUT
- He said he never used them - he just thought he'd spend $300 bucks to ponder the science and aesthetic beauty of meth
- His big daddy, Mike Jones, outed him because he couldn't stand the hypocrisy anymore; apparently, there is still honor and honesty among gay prostitutes
- Rev. Gay McMeth said he didn't have sex with Jones, he only got a "massage"... of his nipples, prostrate, and penis?
- Nevertheless, he added that sex is only sex when it is between a man and a woman; between 2 guys, it's just called a "massage"
- As long as McBlow and Big Daddy weren't planning to get married, there's really no hypocrisy
Ah, schadenfreude, best enjoyed with fresh latte in the morning whilst watching fucking religious right-wing hypocrites get caught.
