2-Month Review
+AMDG
Cara Delia,
It's kinda hard to believe that it's only been 2 months since you assumed your new position - it seems a lot longer than that! I guess Einstein was right after all - time is relative. A combination of many things affects one's perception of time, and your Admiration Society has had plenty of time-perception-altering events: your humble blogger's new job position, the start of the football season, maintaining a long distance relationship with a real GF, the re-appearance of The Shepherd's one true love... Those are all time-consuming, emotionally-exacting, spiritually-exhausting events that require careful balancing and detached attending.
And then there's your absence - maybe you are going to TV or broadcasting school, we don't know - but we know that for more than half of the last 2 months, we spent watching fast-forward CNN news in case you made an appearance. And we don't even like CNN that much anymore, not after what they did to Aaron Brown. Granted that he's a pompous arrogant ass... he still didn't deserve what CNN did to him. There's only so much of Wolf Blitzer and Anderson Cooper we can take, and for Pete's sakes, what have we done to deserve Daryn Kagan and Lou Dobbs?!! (Visions of a Daryn Kagan / Rush Limbaugh and Lou Dobbs / Judy Miller double wedding dance in our migrained heads...)
I guess what we're trying to say is that we don't have much faith in CNN right now. You have been the one shining exception to Jon Klein's gaffes, and the jury is still out on what they eventually do with your talent (not to mention your makeup!).
For now, a pictorial review of your first 2 months with CNN:
1. Here you were talking about Catholic schools in Louisiana; package aired 7 September 2005 on Newsnight with Aaron Brown

2. And here you were holding Symphony (named for her "long, long fingers, like a penis, er, pianist...") Spikes' brother in your package about churches helping single mothers; aired on Paula Zahn 8 September 2005

3. This is your first On The Story Appearance on 10 September 2005, talking about church involvement, etc.; nice touch on the Walmart grandma anecdote

4. On 11 September, you appeared 2x on Sunday Morning with your Chaplain Larry package (also the small-screen debut of your midriff)

5. Your package on the Papal Envoy was never aired, but it was on CNN Video for a month starting 13 September 2005 (it was also the smaller screen debut of your cleavage...)

6. We didn't see you again until 27 September 2005, when you appeared on Lou Dobbs talking about Intelligent Design; it was the small screen debut (and hopefully the last appearance) of your Farrah Fawcett 'do; we still haven't forgiven the Time Warner Center makeup maniac for that appearance, by the way...

7. We saw you briefly on 2 October 2005 on Live Sunday talking about the DC Red Mass; in true CNN style, they devoted an entire 3-minute segment to this event without any substantial follow-up (but at least you got to attend the mass)

8. Thank God for Aunt Harriet and the White House FAV spiel on her nomination, you appeared 3x on 5 October 2005:
a. On The Situation Room

b. Lou Dobbs

c. Paula Zahn

9. Your Aunt Harriet speaking tour continued the following day (6 October) on American Morning

10. On 8 October 2005, you had your 2nd On The Story appearance, with Aunt Harriet on your mind...
a. Reporter's Notebook

b. Live Audience Q&A

11. Here you were on The Situation Room, 10 October 2005, co-interviewing (with Wolfie) the Rev. Falwell about the End of Days

12. Last time we saw you was on 12 October 2005; you were still talking about the End of Days on Newsnight

Good 2 months so far, inspite and because of your employer CNN. We hope to see you again soon.
Love,
Your Admiration Society

Dear Delia Gallagher Shrine:
Indeed, Delia is lovely. Though she may have her detracters, I think that Paula Zahn is deeper and lovelier, with incomparable eyes ... and a fine mind to boot! But I digress ...

Eh, I disagree with anonymous. Actually, I VEHEMENTLY disagree! Delia can run circles around Paula Zahn. ;) Thanks for all of your screencaps, Papa! You've got yourself one of the most amusing blogs on the net. ;)
Papa, just wanted to add that, while the hoop earrings are back, they're not nearly as bad as the big J-Lo pair she was wearing last time. :P
Btw, the second anonymous post was also mine. - Riley
Thanks for the two month recap, Papa. HH's career is taking off like a big ol' jumbo jet. The great part is that there are so many deviants in the world, that she'll always have plenty of material to disect. BTW, I want to clarify to your blog fans that I am not "The Shepherd's one true love". Ours is simply a casual cyber affair. LOL!
