1-Month Review

Image hosted by Photobucket.com+ AMDG

Delia Cara,

You've been in your job for 30 days, and today (ironically), CNN finally got your job description right (not to mention your makeup). Your report on Aunt Harriet was well-researched and eruditely but not condescendingly explained. Of course, your Admiration Society is biased, but we've tried to maintain some semblance of fairness when it comes to you. Mostly, we're just happy you're back.

There are still so many FAV things CNN can be exploring right now, but we hope your producers and bosses do not pander to the right. It seems that in the last few years, the more vocal Christian conservatives think they have a monopoly on FAV and everything spiritual, while simple folks like us are left in the fringes. It's really the "either you're with us or against us" mentality, and we just don't want to play anymore. Image hosted by Photobucket.comTake the abortion issue, for example - we find it so ironic that a lot of the people who wear their pro-choice medals on their chests are also the same ones who support war and the death penalty. And yet those Pro-life warmongering executioners (what an oxymoron!) get to hostage political decisions with their incessant protests and hateful diatribes. Maybe you, as the FAV person, can speak for the rest of us who are either too lazy or just too apathetic to get involved. Or maybe not.

We hope you're enjoying your new gig (as much as we do) and enjoying NYC too. Image hosted by Photobucket.comYour humble blogger had a love affair with the city of NY; the city could be the loneliest or the loveliest city in the world, depending on how your relationship with it is. If you decided to embark on an adventure, NY would be the perfect setting and companion for your discoveries. But if you did not wish to enjoy her seduction, NYC could be a very lonely place where you'd never feel more alone than in a constant crowd of people coming and going 24/7.

So, one month gone, and so far so good.

Love,
Your Admiration Society

I love this blog. By the way, Ms. Gallagher was on The Situation with Wolf Blitzer at 1715 EDT today. If you miseed it, the show will probably be rerun.
