Waiting for Delia

It has been almost 3 months since Her Hotness Delia Gallagher last appeared on CNN; nothing she’s written recently (if she has, at all) has appeared on Google or Yahoo. She’s still Inside the Vatican's Senior Editor, according to their website – which has been sparsely updated, and from what I understand, she didn’t have any article in their latest issue (August – September) either.

I don’t know where she is, I have no way of knowing. I don’t know what she’s currently doing, I have no way of finding that out either. Maybe she got married, maybe she’s back home in California, maybe she’s finally finishing that damn dissertation, maybe she’s got some other Roman gig. Who knows?

It used to be fun speculating, making things up and laughing because they just didn’t fit the Delia bill. But even the novelty of such futile and sophomoric past time eventually wears off, and you’re left with this void. It’s not a gaping hole, it’s not an emotional arm band, it’s not a forlorn lament. It’s a very subtle void, a quiet longing, a Sisyphusian journey – you don’t even realize it until you stop long enough to listen and think and feel.So… I’m just waiting: for something to happen, for something I know will never be. It’s Sisyphusian, I told you.

Please, if anyone knows where she is, can you please tell me she’s okay?
