WYD - Day 2
Note: Still imaginary journey into Her Hotness, Delia Gallagher's world and WYD blog...
Dear Blog,
It has been a really hectic day, this Day 2 of World Youth Day. I know... it should be called "World Youth Days", since it lasts more than a day. Anyway, I started the day as I normally do: with prayers and meditation. Nothing like a good Catholic ritual every morning.
Breakfast with the crew was at this cafe near the press centre - it seems there are still more important news for CNN than this, the biggest gathering of young Catholics anywhere! Why did that bitch Madonna have to fall off her horse! I didn't mean The Madonna, Holy Mother of Jesus, I meant that slut singer English-dame wannabe Madonna who practices Kaballah. Seems her fall is more important to CNN than the history being made here! But - I kept my patience and decided to pursue stories with my Rome Bureau Chief, the gorgeous Alessio Vinci. (Heaven help me!)
We visited the Cathedral of Cologne with all the other pilgrims. The main activity of today is the pilgimage to various Catholic churches. While I genuflected, prayed, and lit a candle, Alessio stayed outside to pursue stories. I was not sure why he had to give out his personal phone number to the young, innocent girls he interviewed - when I, his colleague and close confidante, have to go through his CNN number. The Cathedral houses the relics of the Three Kings. My, those gentlemen sure traveled a lot even until after death!
We had a nice, platonic lunch near the Cathedral and discussed my news package - I was still deciding on the official WYD backpacks or the condom-distribution story. This afternoon, I visited several pavilions and just soaked in the spirit of this gathering. "It is good for us to be here," as the apostles told Jesus during the Transfiguration.
With a holy song in my heart I returned to my hotel room to drink blessed, authentic German beer. Tomorrow, the Holy Father is arriving and I have to make sure he sees me and gives me his blessing.
XOXOXO,
Delia Patricia
PS - That GS got it wrong, my middle name is not Buckley!
