Victory or Apathy?
CNN reports that “efforts to loosen Italy's assisted-fertility laws in a national referendum appeared likely to fail Monday because of low voter turnout that could invalidate the balloting -- a result that would be a victory for the Vatican's boycott campaign.”How the Vatican can claim “victory” is questionable; what is only certain is that people didn’t go to the polls. However, what prevented them from doing so is still subject to debate. Like most normal human beings, I would assume that Italians have a pretty good reason to do something else on a nice Sunday than vote on an issue that probably doesn’t affect a majority of them anyway. And Mondays are always… Mondays...
So, whether eligible voters specifically boycotted the referendum in obedience to their bishops or just didn’t go because… frankly, they don't give a damn… is the big question. And… while there are still unanswered questions, can we at least get a certain Vaticanologist to discuss the intricacies of Italian religious politics? In Italian? Or can she just discuss the weather too? It’s been a month since Her Hotness, Delia Gallagher, last graced my TV screen and the only hotness that’s been around lately is this horrible heat wave we’re having in the Eastcoast.
Note: I'm VERY tired - no, not from naked bike riding (...thanks to Anonymous who sent it in...) but from work work - so please pardon me if my post is suckier than usual. (It's times like this when I'm glad Her Hotness doesn't read the blog... at least I don't think she does...because I'M NOT WORTHY!!! )

I think Italians were busy with the World Naked Bike Ride Day over the weekend.
Maybe Delia was there - not to report but as a participant?
"Naked" and "Delia" in the same sentence sounds really blasphemous!
