The Delia Day

I wish it wasn't on April 1st, but really, any day will do. Last night, AC360 showed about 1 hour of her 2-hour special tonight, and if it's any indication of what the whole thing is like, I'd say it's going to be awesome. Not Bettany Hughes awesome yet, but it's getting there. Delia most likely conducted a lot of the interviews in Italian. *Sigh* She also got to talk to some very important people and got access to some very exclusive jaunts, like JPs's private chapel in Krakow... and mere mortals like me cowered with inferiority...

Of course Delia looked HOT as usual. She did her rounds yesterday from the CNN Centre in Atlanta - she was on American Morning and at the Live From set with Tony Harris. Not quite the amount of promotion that Kyra Phillips did on her CNN Presents, but then again, Kyra promoted the hell out of that package: she was live until 10:30 pm the Friday before it aired!
(Caption DG: Back off, dude! I am not your dancing partner anymore!)*

But yes, it's been a year tomorrow since JP2 died. It's one of those "what were you doing when..." events and I do remember: I was taking a nap and my GF was here for the weekend and she was the one who told me when I woke up that the pope had died. I wasn't so into the Delia Gallagher mode yet - that didn't come until before the funeral, so I didn't record any CNN show at all. It's been a year and I am a year older and the world has been without JP2 for 365 days - but in a way, he did give us Delia, didn't he? Thank you, JP!

So, DVR alert tonight. It's going to be a tough choice between CNN and NCAA basketball, I know, but I'll make the right choice and record Delia and watch basketball. Or maybe it's the other way around. Tough, very tough decision to make.

*Note to Caption: I've speculated that Delia and Dr. Navarro-Valls were salsa and tango dancing partners whilst she lived in Rome. Don't ask me how I came up with that thought, I just did.
