My Spineless Dems

Sen. Russ Feingold (D-WI) this week called for a formal censure of GWB over the domestic wiretapping / spying stuff. As expected, the Gay Ol’ Party (GOP) fired the usual rhetoric: political stunt, presidential ambition, blah, blah, blah. What is also expected but very disappointing nonetheless is the Democrats’ silence on this issue. According to the same article from WP, it’s because the polls show that most Americans don’t mind being spied on, so it’s not an issue the Dems would want to tackle. (Polls DO change, you fatheads!)

To which I say: FUCK YOU!

The GOP is not my party, and I do not have a choice but to pay for their salary just because the very rich and the very ignorant voted them in. But you, Dems, I voted for, I sent money to, I distributed lawn signs for. You Dems, I trusted you to do your job. And your job sure isn’t doing (or not doing) what the polls dictate – which by the way also indicate that OJ Simpson has a higher approval rating than Duck Cheney - your job is to assure that your constituents’ best interests are represented. And I am your constituent, and I don’t like a President who breaks the law and spies on me. Heck, I didn’t even want my own mother snooping around my room!

If the polls say a majority of the American people supported the illegal wiretaps, I can say with ABSOLUTE CERTAINTY that it’s because they are a) ignorant of what this whole deal is really about, b) they have been conditioned to fear and that supersedes their right to privacy, or c) all of the above. Do something to EDUCATE the people about what these policies mean to their sorry ass - maybe that'll get them to realize how royally screwed we've all been!

When the law is on your side but public opinion isn’t, you err on the side of the law. That is the more noble choice; one that Pontius Pilate should have done 2,000 years ago. Instead, you engage in empty rhetoric: Kerry Chides Bush Admin on Broadband, Senators Criticize Oil Merger Mania, blah, blah, blah. STOP TALKING AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! If you don’t like the fact that everyone doesn’t have broadband internet service, give it to them, or introduce a bill that will make it cheaper for people to get one! That’ll royally piss Comcast (R-PA) off! If you don’t like oil companies merging, introduce a bill to prevent it, or just shut the &%$# up! Do you think the Oil Barons would care what you think?

If you think your President has broken the law, you MUST hold him accountable! Surely, illegal wire tapping is more serious than getting a blow job, right? Stop mugging for the cameras and start doing your job! This President has mislead, mismanaged, misunderestimated his people – in the private sector, people can get fired for less. It’s time to Donald Trump this Rumsfeld / Cheney Apprentice and say: GEORGE, YOU’RE FIRED.
